How do I explain a layoff in interviews? - any advice?

My whole team was cut and I want to say it calmly. Any experience at all would help. I do not want to blame the company. Do you mention numbers?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
