How do I explain a layoff in interviews? after 8 years as an HR coordinator

My whole team was cut and I want to say it calmly. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I also do not want to seem like a risk. Do they ask follow-ups?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

Practise it out loud with a friend. Mine felt natural after the third try.
