How do I explain a layoff in interviews? after 7 years as a hotel front-desk agent

They always ask why I left, and I freeze. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I do not want to blame the company. Do they ask follow-ups?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
