How do I explain a layoff in interviews? after 14 years as a retail manager

My whole team was cut and I want to say it calmly. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I do not want to blame the company.

If a company has been in the news for layoffs, you can mention that. Often the interviewer already knows.

Say it plainly and move on to what you can do. Interviewers usually move on if you do.
