How do I explain a layoff in interviews?

My whole team was cut and I want to say it calmly. I worked as a software tester before this. I do not want to blame the company. What do you say?

Practise it out loud with a friend. Mine felt natural after the third try.

If a company has been in the news for layoffs, you can mention that. Often the interviewer already knows.
