How do I explain a layoff in interviews? - 4 months and counting

My whole team was cut and I want to say it calmly. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I do not want to blame the company. Do they ask follow-ups?

If a company has been in the news for layoffs, you can mention that. Often the interviewer already knows.
