How do I explain a layoff in interviews? - 11 months and counting

My whole team was cut and I want to say it calmly. There are 18 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have been practising in the mirror. Do they ask follow-ups?

Say it plainly and move on to what you can do. Interviewers usually move on if you do.
