Hiding a layoff from the family, bad idea? - what worked for you?

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a pharmacy technician. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I want a plan before I speak. What did you say?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 9 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
