Hiding a layoff from the family, bad idea? (Toledo)

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as an office manager. I worked as an office manager before this. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. What did you say?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 8 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
