Hiding a layoff from the family, bad idea?, pharmacy technician here

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a pharmacy technician. There are 6 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I want a plan before I speak. Did it get easier afterwards?

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
