Hiding a layoff from the family, bad idea?, pharmacy technician here

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a pharmacy technician. There are 18 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. Did it get easier afterwards?

Do not wait until a bill surprises them. The longer it goes, the harder it gets.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
