Hiding a layoff from the family, bad idea? - first time posting

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a home health aide. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. How did you handle it?

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
