Hiding a layoff from the family, bad idea?

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as an administrative assistant. Thank you in advance. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
