Hiding a layoff from the family, bad idea? after 11 years as an accounts payable clerk

I have been leaving the house at the same time each day so my kids do not notice. I worked as an accounts payable clerk before this. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team.

Do not wait until a bill surprises them. The longer it goes, the harder it gets.
