Hiding a layoff from the family, bad idea? after 11 years as a barista

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a barista. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team.

Do not wait until a bill surprises them. The longer it goes, the harder it gets.
