Hiding a layoff from the family, bad idea? after 10 years as a dental hygienist

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as a dental hygienist. I worked as a dental hygienist before this. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team.

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
