Hiding a layoff from the family, bad idea?, administrative assistant here

My spouse does not know yet that I was let go as an administrative assistant. I am in Boise, in case local advice matters. I want a plan before I speak. What did you say?

Shame is common after a layoff even when it is not your fault. Saying it out loud to one person first helped me.
