Hiding a layoff from the family, bad idea? - 7 weeks in

I was laid off 7 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I want a plan before I speak. What did you say?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
