Hiding a layoff from the family, bad idea? - 15 weeks in

I was laid off 15 weeks ago and have not told my family because I do not want them to worry. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I feel ashamed even though the company cut a whole team. Did it get easier afterwards?

Do not wait until a bill surprises them. The longer it goes, the harder it gets.
