Explaining a layoff without sounding bitter after 15 years as a teaching assistant

My whole team was cut and I want to say it calmly. I worked as a teaching assistant before this. I also do not want to seem like a risk. What do you say?

Say it plainly and move on to what you can do. Interviewers usually move on if you do.
