Explaining a layoff without sounding bitter after 12 years as a graphic designer

I have an interview next week and I am unsure how to explain why I left my last job as a graphic designer. There are 12 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have been practising in the mirror. Do they ask follow-ups?

If a company has been in the news for layoffs, you can mention that. Often the interviewer already knows.
