Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? - what worked for you?

I have 2 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a payroll clerk. I have been trying to stay organised about it. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What helped the most?

A simple budget with three columns, fixed, flexible and optional, made decisions faster.
