Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? - what worked for you?

I have 12 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a software tester. Rent and the car are the biggest costs.

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $700 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.
