Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? (update)

I have 4 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a call-centre agent. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What did you cut first?

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.
