Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? (update)

We are a household of 11 and need to cut costs quickly. There are 11 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. Did any lender work with you?

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $1200 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.
