Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first?, IT help-desk technician here

I have 6 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as an IT help-desk technician. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What helped the most?

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.
