Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? - first time posting

I have 5 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a machine operator. Any experience at all would help. Rent and the car are the biggest costs.

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.
