Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first?

My income dropped to unemployment benefits and my bills have not changed. I am in San Diego, in case local advice matters. I am nervous about the credit card minimums. What helped the most?

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $600 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.

I called the landlord and the card company early. Both offered a short payment plan, which I did not expect.
