Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first?

I have 14 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as an insurance claims processor. It has been a long 14 weeks. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What helped the most?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
