Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? - any advice?

I have 9 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a nurse's aide. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. Rent and the car are the biggest costs.

I called the landlord and the card company early. Both offered a short payment plan, which I did not expect.
