Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? - any advice?

I have 5 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a logistics coordinator. Any experience at all would help. Rent and the car are the biggest costs.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
