Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? - any advice?

We are a household of 12 and need to cut costs quickly. Any experience at all would help. I am nervous about the credit card minimums. What helped the most?

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $650 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.
