Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? - any advice?

I have 6 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as an accounts payable clerk. This is my first time dealing with any of this. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What helped the most?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
