Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? - any advice?

We are a household of 4 and need to cut costs quickly. I have been trying to stay organised about it. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. Did any lender work with you?

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $600 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.
