Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? after 8 years as a school bus driver

My income dropped to unemployment benefits and my bills have not changed. There are 8 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Rent and the car are the biggest costs.

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $300 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
