Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? after 4 years as a medical assistant

We are a household of 4 and need to cut costs quickly. It has been weighing on me all week. Rent and the car are the biggest costs.

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $400 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.
