Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? after 3 years as a medical assistant

I have 8 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a medical assistant. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I am nervous about the credit card minimums. What helped the most?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
