Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? after 17 years as a medical assistant

We are a household of 17 and need to cut costs quickly. It has been weighing on me all week. I am nervous about the credit card minimums. What did you cut first?

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $300 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.
