Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first?

We are a household of 10 and need to cut costs quickly. It has been a long 2 weeks. I am nervous about the credit card minimums.

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $1150 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.
