Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? - 8 weeks in

We are a household of 14 and need to cut costs quickly. I worked as a school bus driver before this. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What did you cut first?

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $650 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
