Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? - 8 months and counting

I have 8 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a retail manager. I worked as a retail manager before this. I am nervous about the credit card minimums. What helped the most?

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.
