Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? - 7 weeks in

I have 12 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as an accountant. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What helped the most?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 12 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $600 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.
