Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? - 4 months and counting

We are a household of 13 and need to cut costs quickly. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What did you cut first?

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $300 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.
