Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first?

We are a household of 13 and need to cut costs quickly. Thank you in advance. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. Did any lender work with you?

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $800 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 4 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
