Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? - 2 weeks in

I have 9 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a copywriter. This is my first time dealing with any of this. Rent and the car are the biggest costs. What helped the most?

Subscriptions first, then the phone plan. I saved about $1050 a year just by switching to a cheaper plan.

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.
