Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? - 18 weeks in

We are a household of 10 and need to cut costs quickly. Any experience at all would help. Rent and the car are the biggest costs.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 4 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
