Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first? - 13 months and counting

I have 13 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as a school bus driver. I am in Portland, in case local advice matters. I am nervous about the credit card minimums.

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.
