Budget after a layoff: what did you cut first?

I have 12 months of savings and I am trying to stretch them after being let go as an administrative assistant. I am nervous about the credit card minimums.

Ask your utility about hardship programmes. Mine knocked a bit off my bill for several months.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
