Benefits end date after a layoff, IT help-desk technician here

HR said my health plan continues for a bit and I do not understand how. I worked as an IT help-desk technician before this. I have an appointment next week. What should I do about appointments?

Ask HR to confirm the exact date in writing. I also called the insurance company to double-check.
