Benefits end date after a layoff - first time posting

HR said my health plan continues for a bit and I do not understand how. I am in Milwaukee, in case local advice matters. I do not want to be surprised by a bill. How did you confirm your end date?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
